Welcome to our church
OUR VISION: Empowered by God’s Holy Spirit, Calvary is a church of disciple-makers who are compassionate and authentic.
Calvary Flamborough CRC has been on the corner of Middletown Road and Concession 2 since 1988. We were originally composed of a group of families branching off from Calvin CRC on Highway 5 when that congregation became too big for its building. Since then we have grown to be the church we are today.
In our relatively short history as a church, we have seen a great deal of change both within and outside our walls – all of which has helped to shape our character and has helped us to grow. We have a strong sense of being part of a larger family and we care for one another. We also have a really big heart for needs in both our local and global community. Every year for more than 20 years we have run a community food drive for the Flamborough Food Bank, averaging about 10,000 pounds of food per year gathered from the local community. For one week every summer, we host many kids from the local community and CityKidz at our Kidz Connect program. This has been a great opportunity for kids to connect with each other and with God, and for us to connect with the kids. We have seen many kids grow up through the program who are now returning to help lead. Globally, we have a strong partnership with the country of Honduras through our Carpenteros and Friends.
As our name suggests (CRC), we are part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America – a bi-national collection of churches who ascribe to the same doctrinal standards and church governance structure. Although each individual church has autonomy as far as the shape of its ministry, we are united in our core beliefs and practices. If you would like to learn more about the CRC, we would invite you to visit the denominational website at www.crcna.org.
